Singapore Employment Pass
Employment Pass (EP) is a type of work pass issued to foreign directors, professional employees, managers, and of Singapore companies. There is no levy / CPF for the Employment Pass holder but Employment Pass is normally issued for 1-2 years at a time and renewable thereafter. An Employment Pass enables the applicant to work, stay in Singapore & travel in and out of Singapore freely without applying for VISAs to enter Singapore.
Note: You can choose to apply for Entrepreneur Pass before you setup your company in Singapore.
However to renew the entrepreneur pass subsequently is more difficult to achieve for most clients.

Fees Schedule For Application of Employment Pass
Initial Processing Fees: S$500 (Non-Refundable Processing Fees)
Approval Fees: S$400 (Approval Fees is collected upfront, and Approval Fees of S$400 will be refunded if application is rejected after first appeal)
Singapore Employment Pass Criteria
With effect of 1 July 2011, Employment Pass Applicants will need to draw a fixed salary of more than S$2,800 a month, a Bachelor's degree and above from a reputable university and have relevant professional experience.
With effect of 1 July 2011, the salary threshold for the following employment passes would be:
- P1 Pass: for applicants with a base salary of above S$8,000 a month.
- P2 Pass: for applicants with a base salary between S$4,000 and S$8,000 a month.
- Q1 Pass: for applicants with a base salary between S$2,800 and S$4,000 a month.
Passes for Family Members
Employment Pass applicants may apply for the Dependant's Pass (DP) and/or Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for their family members. The DP/LTVP application and supporting documents may be submitted together with the Employment Pass application or separately.
Dependant Pass
Both P and Q1 Pass holders can apply for a Dependant Pass for their:
- Spouse
- Unmarried or legally adopted children under 21 years old
Long Term Visit Pass
P Pass holders can also apply for a Long Term Visit Pass for their:
- Common-law Spouse
- Unmarried daughters above 21 years old
- Handicapped children above 21 years old
- Step-children under 21 years old
- Parents and parents-in-law
Documents Required for Employment Pass
The following documents are required for submission of Employment Pass visa application in Singapore:
- Resume containing the applicant’s education, work experience
- Copies of educational certificates (Translated to English if certificates is not in English)
- Previous employment testimonials (Translated to English if certificates is not in English)
- Passport-size photograph taken within the past three months
- Copy of personal particulars page of the applicant’s passport, pages with VISAs from any country endorsed
- Business profile for the Singapore company (Paid-up Capital Minimum S$50,000, Furnish Bank Proof of S$50,000)
- Detailed description of the duties to be performed by the applicant
- Detailed description of activities and/or products of the company
- Tenancy agreement of the place of business operations in Singapore
Approval of Employment Pass
The fact is that not all Employment Pass applications can be approved as MOM takes into account the applicant’s qualifications, work experience, when approving or rejecting Employment Pass applications.
If the Employment Pass application is rejected, we will file an free 1 time employment pass appeal and the processing of an appeal application can take take another 4 - 5 weeks.
